About “Question Out” and “Paper Leak” Groups
Groups promising leaked question papers before an exam circulate every board season in Bihar. Please read this before joining one:
- It is a criminal offence. Circulating or using a leaked paper carries serious legal consequences under India’s anti-paper-leak laws, not just school discipline.
- You can be debarred. Students found with leaked material are typically barred from the examination, which costs a full year.
- The overwhelming majority are fake. Most “question out” groups sell a fabricated paper for money, or collect your details, and disappear once payment is made. Students lose money and study time on a paper that was never real.
- Some are data-harvesting operations collecting roll numbers, phone numbers and Aadhaar details from anxious students.
- “Result upgrade” offers are pure fraud. Nobody can change a board result for money, and attempting it exposes you to prosecution as well.
- If you see one, leave and report it. WhatsApp lets you report a group directly, and paper-leak activity can be reported to the police or through the cyber crime helpline on 1930.
Model papers, previous years’ papers and “VVI question” lists are a completely different thing — those are legitimate revision material published openly, and several groups above share them.
Exam Forms, Admit Cards and Results
- Your school submits the exam form for regular students. Check with your school well before the deadline rather than assuming it’s done.
- Verify the dummy admit card carefully when it’s issued — name, father’s and mother’s name, date of birth, subjects and photograph. BSEB releases a dummy version specifically so errors can be corrected, and corrections are far harder afterwards.
- Keep your registration and roll code safe. You’ll need them for the result, scrutiny and every certificate request later.
- Scrutiny is the re-checking process if you believe your marks are wrong, and it has a limited window after results. Apply promptly.
- Compartmental exams give a second chance in failed subjects without losing the year — ask your school about the process rather than panicking.
- Always confirm on the official BSEB website. Screenshots of notices circulated in groups are frequently outdated or edited.
Staying Safe in Student Groups
- Don’t share your roll code, registration number, address or photographs in an open group.
- Keep conversations in the group. Be cautious if someone you don’t know moves to private messages.
- Tell a parent or teacher if anyone makes you uncomfortable or asks you to keep something secret.
- Nobody legitimate charges for notes, papers, results or admission help.
- Two or three active groups is plenty. More just means notifications during study hours.
