IT groups are useful for the things that move faster than documentation — a stack trace someone recognises, a walk-in interview posted the same morning, or a straight answer about whether a certification is worth the money.

Groups to Avoid — and Why
A number of groups listed on this page previously were not IT communities at all. They advertised criminal services, and joining one carries real legal risk to you, not just to whoever runs it.
- “Carding” groups trade stolen credit and debit card details. Buying, selling or using that data is fraud, prosecutable under the IT Act and the BNS. Being in the group is itself evidence.
- Hacking tool and “full course” groups distribute malware and credential stealers. Unauthorised access to a computer system is an offence under Section 66 of the IT Act, and many of these tools are backdoored to compromise the person who downloads them.
- FRP, iCloud and pattern-unlock services exist to make stolen phones sellable. That’s handling stolen property.
- “SIM data” and data-lookup services sell people’s personal information from leaked telecom databases. Both selling and buying breach India’s data protection law.
- “Free internet” and VPN activator groups distribute configurations to obtain telecom services without paying — theft of service, and the configs frequently route your traffic through someone else’s server.
- Tatkal ticket groups using automated booking software violate IRCTC rules and the Railways Act, and touts have been prosecuted for it.
- Vote and engagement manipulation groups breach the terms of every platform they target, and get participant accounts banned.
If you’re interested in security as a career, that’s a genuinely good field — but it runs through certifications, CTF platforms, bug bounty programmes and responsible disclosure, not through groups selling stolen data.
Getting Value From an IT Group
- Post the error, not the summary. The actual message, what you tried, and your environment. “My code doesn’t work” gets nothing.
- Don’t paste credentials. API keys, connection strings and tokens end up in screenshots constantly — redact before posting, and rotate anything you’ve already exposed.
- Answering others is how you learn the ecosystem, and it’s how people remember you when a role opens.
- Verify job posts on the company’s careers page before sending your CV. Fake IT recruitment is common, and no employer or consultancy charges a candidate.
- Watch for “training then placement” pitches that require paying upfront for a guaranteed job. The guarantee is never real.
- Two or three groups, muted. Tech groups are high volume and mostly noise.

Why has a group link stopped working?
